## Adaptive sports and dance leagues

Up to age 21

Adaptive sports and recreation for children and adults with developmental, cognitive and physical disabilities, run by a volunteer-led Long Beach non-profit. Programs are baseball, basketball, dance and movement, and boccia, all designed to be fully inclusive. Baseball, the original program since 2016, takes players ages 5 and up and is played on a custom rubberized turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and mobility aids; a spring season began in March 2026. At the heart of the program is a buddy system that pairs each participant with a volunteer, including local high school athletes, who supports and encourages them on the field. Programs are described as a welcoming, safe setting that builds friendships, teamwork and confidence. Registration for each program is done online through the website.
