Edgewater Preschool is a licensed developmental childcare program at 5270 E Atherton St in Long Beach, zip 90815, for children from 18 months to 6 years in toddler and preschool classrooms. Its constructivist, play-based curriculum draws on Piaget and Vygotsky, with hands-on activities, problem solving, social learning and behavior guidance that builds self-control. Hours are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Tuition includes three daily snacks and a lunch prepared at the school; the page lists no tuition amounts. The yard is about one acre of parklike outdoor space for large-motor play and nature exploration, and classrooms do cooking activities.
