## ABA therapy

Up to age 21

Personalized ABA therapy for children, beginning with a consultation and a functional assessment. The team builds an individualized treatment plan with the family and works on communication, self-help and socialization by breaking skills into small steps and using positive reinforcement such as praise, stickers or small toys. Therapists track progress over time and adjust the plan as needed. The clinical director, Natasha Moore, is a BCBA who focuses on functional communication, replacement behaviors, social skills, daily living skills and learning-readiness skills. Insurance plans the foundation lists as accepted are Tricare, MHN, Molina, Anthem, Cigna, Magellan and Health Net. Based in Long Beach, with the foundation also serving South Los Angeles and Compton.

## Social skills groups

Ages 2+

Interactive social skills groups where children learn social communication and emotional regulation and make new friends in a small group setting. Groups are age-matched and cover ages 2 to 24, and group numbers are limited, so families register ahead. The Social Skills Program Director, Latreasa Nolen, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a master's in psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis and about ten years of experience supporting youth with special needs across Los Angeles County. She also teaches youth and teens with autism about fitness and staying healthy. The foundation is a Long Beach-based nonprofit that also runs programs in Compton and South Los Angeles.
