## Challenger Division adaptive baseball

Ages 4+ · Free

Adaptive baseball for players with physical and intellectual challenges, played under rules very similar to Little League with flexibility so it stays fun for everyone. Volunteer "Buddies", generally high school students or peer Little League athletes, help players bat, run bases and field, only as needed. Every player plays defense and bats every inning. Games are on Sundays at Premier Field in Manhattan Beach, last about an hour and run 1-2 innings, in a season from early March through June. It generally accommodates ages 4-18, or up to 22 if still enrolled in school; a Senior League Challenger Division takes players 15 and older with no maximum age. There is no registration cost, and registration is ongoing online. More than 60 players take part. The league works with Golden Heart Ranch, whose director is Rose Hein, (310) 567-6984.

Hermosa Beach Little League is an all-volunteer Little League whose home games have been played at Clark Field in Hermosa Beach since 1951. Its Challenger Division is an adaptive baseball program run in partnership with Golden Heart Ranch and other local Little Leagues, serving players from Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.
