## Speech and language therapy

Ages 1–6

Family-centered, play-based speech and language therapy that specializes in Early Intervention (ages 1-3) and preschool-age (3-6) children. Sessions follow the child's lead and interests and use books, crafts and pretend play, with modeling and parent coaching so caregivers learn language-rich activities and ways to adapt the home to support communication. Experience includes children with autism spectrum disorder and expressive and receptive language disorders. Families start with a free phone consultation, then an evaluation of the child's skills, then therapy if it is needed. Therapy is mainly in the Hawthorne office. In-home visits depend on the day, time and drive distance. Other locations such as school, daycare, a grandparent's house, online or an ABA center are considered case by case.
