## ABA Therapy

Up to age 18

ABA therapy for children with autism, starting with an assessment by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst that includes caregiver interviews and direct observation. Treatment plans target communication, social, learning and daily living skills, and can be focused (one or two priority areas) or comprehensive (10 to 40 hours a week). Sprouts serves ages 0 to 4 and Sprigs ages 4 to 6; Explorers (7 to 12) and Trailblazers (13 to 18) are for families already enrolled. In the Sacramento area, services are offered in centers, at home, at school or in the community, depending on insurance coverage and staffing. Parent training is part of care. Funding includes commercial insurance, Medicaid, school contracts and private pay.
