It is one of the Valley Charter Schools, an independent charter organization founded in 2010 whose executive director is Carolyn Yaffe. The school uses project-based learning, and the organization says students build academic and social-emotional tools through rigorous projects. Its pages list special education and neurodiversity resources. Each of its elementary and middle campuses enrolls under 300 students. Applications for the 2027–28 school year go through SchoolMint: apply before February 11, 2027 for the lottery on February 18, and families with an incoming sibling must apply by February 11 to get sibling priority. It suits a North Hills family with a young child who wants a small free public school with a project-based approach.","categories":["charter-school"],"ages":{"min":5,"max":11},"grades":{"min":0,"max":5},"price":{"amount":0,"unit":"year","note":"Tuition-free public charter school."},"school":{"sector":"charter","district":"Los Angeles Unified","code":"19647330122754"},"traits":{"specialNeeds":"supported","admission":"lottery","priceLevel":"budget","subsidized":true,"faith":"secular","gender":"all","methods":["project-based","social-emotional"],"feel":"A free K–5 charter in North Hills where students learn through project-based work.","topics":["diversity","sibling-priority"]}}],"source":{"url":"https://www.valleycharterschool.org","fetched":"2026-10-09"},"updated":"2026-10-09","checked":null,"closed":null,"sample":false}
