It evaluates for autism spectrum disorder using the Department of Developmental Services gold-standard approach, and also for ADHD, learning disabilities, and general, intellectual or language delays. It does school readiness and placement questions, giftedness testing for GATE or private gifted schools, and testing accommodations. An evaluation usually takes several hours of in-person testing over several days, then a feedback appointment and a written diagnostic report that families can use to seek services from insurance, school districts and Regional Centers. Younger children are tested through play. A free 15-minute phone consultation comes first, and the site says most patients are seen within one to six weeks. Evaluations are private-pay with fees by scope; some insurances are accepted, and a superbill is given for out-of-network PPO reimbursement. A sliding scale exists for some low-income families. Children, teens and adults are seen.","categories":["developmental-evaluation","child-therapy"],"ages":{"min":0,"max":21},"format":"in-person","financialAid":true,"health":{"specialties":["Autism diagnostic evaluation","ADHD evaluation","Learning disabilities evaluation","Developmental and intellectual delay evaluation","Giftedness and school placement testing","Testing accommodations","Individual psychotherapy (CBT)","Family and caretaker training","Case management","Skills training"],"practitioners":["Tamar Apelian, Psy.D."],"hours":[{"days":["mon","tue","wed","thu","fri","sat"],"start":"09:00","end":"19:00"}]},"traits":{"specialNeeds":"focused","conditions":["autism","adhd","learning-disabilities","developmental-delay","intellectual-disability","speech-language","anxiety-depression"],"delivery":["clinic","in-home","school"],"insurance":["superbill","sliding-scale"],"assessment":true,"feel":"A small psychology clinic led by one psychologist that pairs diagnostic testing with a free initial phone consultation.","topics":["diagnostic-evaluation","autism-evaluation","adhd-evaluation","free-consultation","parent-training","cbt","family-therapy","case-management","giftedness-testing","test-accommodations","school-readiness","adults-also-seen"],"groupSize":["one-on-one"],"goals":["social","life-skills"]}}],"source":{"url":"https://ampautism.com/","name":"NPPES NPI registry, September 2026","fetched":"2026-10-12"},"updated":"2026-10-12","checked":null,"closed":null,"sample":false}
