The federal Private School Universe Survey for 2023-24 counts nine students and one teacher, a ratio of nine to one, which keeps the group very small. It is a private school, not part of a public district, and it has no religious affiliation. Its small size suits a family who wants a close, personal start to school for a four- or five-year-old in Downey. Downey is in southeast Los Angeles County, a short drive from the city of Los Angeles.","categories":["private-school"],"ages":{"min":3,"max":6},"grades":{"min":-1,"max":0},"school":{"sector":"private","enrollment":9},"traits":{"faith":"secular","ratio":9,"feel":"A tiny private school in Downey with one teacher and nine children, for the youngest grades.","topics":["preschool"]}}],"source":{"name":"NCES Private School Universe Survey 2023-24","fetched":"2026-10-09"},"updated":"2026-10-12","checked":null,"closed":null,"sample":false}
