The state directory classifies it as an alternative school of choice, and the name points to an independent-learning model, so students who want a different setting from a traditional comprehensive high school can consider it. Enrollment is by choice within the district rather than by neighborhood address. As a public school, it is tuition-free. The school is coeducational and secular, and it shares the 1915 Monterey Avenue campus with the district's Magnolia Park special education school. Families can call (818) 729-5900 or check the Burbank Unified website for schedules and how to apply.","categories":["public-school"],"ages":{"min":14,"max":18},"grades":{"min":9,"max":12},"price":{"amount":0,"unit":"year","note":"Public school: tuition-free."},"school":{"sector":"public","district":"Burbank Unified","code":"19643370131573"},"traits":{"faith":"secular","gender":"all","priceLevel":"budget","subsidized":true,"offers":["independent-study"],"staff":["credentialed-teachers"],"feel":"A small alternative high school in Burbank for grades 9–12, built around independent learning rather than a traditional campus day.","topics":["alternative-school-of-choice","school-of-choice"]}}],"source":{"url":"https://www.burbankusd.org","fetched":"2026-10-09"},"updated":"2026-10-09","checked":null,"closed":null,"sample":false}
