A California Department of Education certified nonpublic school in Compton serving students ages five to twenty-two diagnosed with specific learning disabilities, autism, mild/moderate and moderate/severe intellectual disability, other health impairment, emotional disturbance and multiple disabilities. Each classroom has a teacher and a teacher's assistant with no more than 14 students, and instruction is individualized to each student's academic level and pace. Licensed therapists provide individual counseling as written into students' IEPs; the state list also notes speech and hearing services and psychological services. Round-trip curb-to-curb transportation is provided to all students. Activities include chess, basketball, dance/cheer, and dance, music and theater, plus "Spirit & Pride" celebrations recognizing positive behavior. Summer school focuses on math and reading, and high school students can earn 5 credits. Students are placed through their school district's IEP process.
