## Speech therapy and occupational therapy

Up to age 18

Pediatric speech and language therapy and occupational therapy for children from first words into adolescence. Speech therapists work on receptive and expressive language, social communication, articulation, stuttering and AAC (assistive technology assessments). OTs use play-based, evidence-informed approaches for sensory integration, fine motor, self-help and executive function skills, and run feeding therapy for limited diets and food aversions. Therapy happens at the clinic, at school, at home and by teletherapy with parent coaching. The practice names autism, ADHD, developmental delay, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, hearing loss, apraxia of speech and sensory processing among the needs it serves. As an approved non-public agency it provides OT and speech services to school districts and charter schools, offers Independent Educational Evaluations, and provides Early Start therapy for ages 0 to 5 through the Regional Center. Private pay and insurance are accepted; no referral is needed to schedule an evaluation. Hours at Claremont are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 6:30 pm.

## Social skills and feeding groups

Up to age 21

Small, structured, therapist-led groups that let children practice skills with peers. Social skills groups take a neurodiversity-affirming approach, helping each child find their own ways to connect and communicate through low-pressure play. Feeding groups are led by the OT team and use the same gradual, play-based approach as individual feeding therapy, with no child forced or pressured to eat. The next groups are in planning and families can join an interest list. Children who are Regional Center clients in the Self-Determination Program with the Inland Regional Center or San Gabriel Pomona Regional Center can typically use their SDP budget to pay for these programs.
