## Early Start and regional center intake

Up to age 21

NLACRC is the regional center for the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys. Families apply for Early Start (birth to 3 years) or for Lanterman Act services (age 3 and up) to begin intake. For Early Start, a child may qualify with a 25% delay in one or more areas of development, a combination of two or more risk factors, or a diagnosed condition with a high chance of causing delay. NLACRC completes an evaluation of the child's developmental level and reviews medical records; determination may take up to 45 days. Children from birth to five may also qualify provisionally under the Lanterman Act. Older applicants have a developmental disability such as intellectual disability, epilepsy, cerebral palsy or autism. The main office is in Chatsworth and is open weekdays.

North Los Angeles County Regional Center (NLACRC) is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers under contract with the California Department of Developmental Services. It coordinates community-based services for people with developmental disabilities and Early Start services for infants and toddlers with certain delays, and serves the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys. It has supported families there for 50 years and serves more than 35,000 consumers. The main office is in Chatsworth, with offices in Santa Clarita and Lancaster.
