## Infant development program (Early Start)

Up to age 3

Home-based infant development program for babies and toddlers from birth to age 3 who show, or are at risk for, a developmental delay. Children are assessed through standardized testing, clinical observation, review of medical records and interviews with parents or caregivers, across five developmental domains: cognitive and adaptive, behavioral and social-emotional, communication and language, self-help and self-care, and motor. Services cover assessment and treatment for children with a developmental delay, established risk conditions, or a high risk of a substantial developmental disability due to biomedical factors. The team provides child development specialist services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech and language pathology. Services are provided to families of the Early Start Program at North Los Angeles County Regional Center and delivered in the family's home in the San Fernando Valley.
