## Adaptive skills training and behavior intervention

Up to age 21

Adaptive skills training for children and young people with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities, from the youngest children up to college-age clients. Skills include everyday routines such as dressing, hand-washing, tooth brushing and homework habits, and for older clients using public transport, using money, study habits and social interaction. Behavior interventions begin with assessment tools and ABC analysis, and the intervention is designed around the function of the behavior. Parent training is offered on its own or alongside direct services. The founders draw on traditional ABA/DTT concepts from Lovaas. Services are described as delivered in the home and in the natural environment, and campus support is available for college students. Services are funded through regional centers (Lanterman and North LA County). Staff speak Spanish, Chinese, Armenian, Farsi, Hebrew and Russian.
