## In-Home Speech & Feeding Therapy

Up to age 21

A private speech-language pathology practice that comes to the family's home in Northeast Los Angeles, Glendale, Burbank and the East San Fernando Valley. It evaluates and treats speech and language delays, feeding disorders and orofacial myofunctional disorders, from newborns, including preemies with bottle-feeding difficulty, through age 21. Evaluations include a parent interview, clinical observation and formal assessment, with results the same day and a recommended plan of care. Treatment sessions are play-based, 45 minutes, one-to-one, followed by parent education and home program suggestions. Feeding therapy uses the SOS approach and oral motor therapy. The practice does not bill insurance but gives a superbill for reimbursement, takes self-referrals, offers telehealth, and has a free 15-minute phone call to discuss concerns. It is accepting new clients.

Rachel K. Velard, M.A., CCC-SLP, owns a private, home-based pediatric speech and feeding therapy practice that comes to families' homes in Northeast Los Angeles, Glendale, Burbank and the East San Fernando Valley. She has about a decade of experience with children's developmental and medical needs in inpatient, outpatient and home care settings, including Blythedale Children's Hospital and St. Louis Children's Hospital, and moved to Burbank in 2021. She holds an M.A. in Speech Language Pathology from CUNY Lehman College (2016).
