## Speech and language therapy

Up to age 21

Speech-language assessment and therapy for children from birth through school age (adults are seen too), with an emphasis on early intervention. Birth-to-three therapy happens through play and floor time with parent training; school-age therapy uses language games, music, art and apps. Specialties include apraxia, articulation and phonology, stuttering, AAC, oral motor and feeding or swallowing, autism, pragmatic and social language, auditory processing and cleft lip/palate. Staff are trained in Hanen, PROMPT, PECS and Floor Time, and a Hanen 'It Takes Two to Talk' parent group is offered. Assessments (1 to 1.5 hours) can be private, insurance, bilingual, school district (IEE) or regional center. Sessions are typically 30 minutes with parents encouraged to take part. In-network with major PPOs and Medicaid-certified; insurance clients need a doctor's prescription. Burbank hours: Mon-Fri 9-6, Sat 8-4:30, by appointment. Telehealth available.
